Companies go through phases all the time. Phases, however, all have risk factors. The organization changes, but the people do not. If this happens, it is time to get together for some ‘synchronization’’: What are we doing? What is our mutual objective? These questions optimize the communication and transparency processes. They provide people with insight into what is happening and helps them in finding inspiration from these developments.
Next, we will move on to the individual. Here, it is important that the employees are made aware of their inner motivation and drives. That a positive attitude is crucial for the success of the company where they work. And that their personal situation also has an impact on their motivation and functioning at the workplace.
As a business doctor and a consultant, I work for companies that are dealing with a problem. I am also aware that talking is prevention. It helps organizations – that is, specifically the employees – to better handle changes, and to respect one another. It avoids the so-called ‘each to their own’ scenarios and stimulates the employees to adopt a positive attitude. So, it helps in counteracting situations where the staff’s official approval of the implementation of positive and necessary changes is in fact followed up by secretive actions that suggest otherwise.
